WELCOME TO THE WEBSITE OF THE CHRISTODOULOU FAMILY
The British branch of the family began when Sapper Lefteris 'Glenn' Christodoulou, then serving with 3 Troop, 9 Independent Airborne Squadron (RE) was posted to Aldershot, after having seen service in Italy, Arnhem, Palestine and the Canal Zone in Egypt. He had joined the Cyprus Regiment in June 1943, two months short of his 17th birthday. |

Sitting in the NAAFI Club in Aldershot in May 1955 with two friends Lefteris saw local girl Lilian Edith Barker, an 18 year-old waitress. He walked her home after she finished her shift at 10.30 pm. |
Meeting Lilian Barker in May 1955, then a waitress in Aldershot's NAAFI club, the couple married in less than a week.
During their nearly 57 year marriage the couple went on to have five children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sadly, Lefteris lost his four year battle with cancer on 5 February 2012, passing away in his Perowne Street home. He left a devastated and heart-broken family. He was cremated at Aldershot's Park Crematorium on 21 February 2012. |
